About Beeline

Beeline is a daily hex-grid puzzle built around one simple, repeatable idea: trace a hidden route from 1 to 50 through fog, managing a small battery budget and the temptation of optional detours. It is designed to be understood within a minute and rewarding to return to every day.

The idea

Most maze games are either too random to be fair or too static to be interesting. Beeline aims for a middle path: a deterministic daily board that is the same for everyone, combined with fog-of-war and a battery budget that turn a simple counting route into a genuine decision-making puzzle. The result is a short ritual you can finish in a few minutes and still think about afterwards.

Design philosophy

Beeline is built around a few firm principles that shape every feature:

  • Readable exploration. You should almost always understand what is visible, what is hidden, and which cells you can reach next.
  • Gentle tension. Battery, time, and chase pressure create real tradeoffs without making a run feel mean or stingy.
  • A fair daily challenge. The same date and mode always generate the same board, so the leaderboard means something.
  • Rewarded, optional detours. Treasure and subhive tunnels tempt exploration but are never mandatory busywork.
  • Reflective aftermath. The recap and share surfaces explain a run without turning the game into a harsh optimisation judge.

Fairness first

Determinism is at the core of Beeline. Because every board is generated from its date and public mode, route judgement matters more than luck, and the daily leaderboard compares players on an identical puzzle. Monetisation is kept deliberately outside puzzle fairness: ads and the optional one-time purchase never change the seed, the rules, fog, battery, or leaderboard comparability.

Platforms

Beeline is web-first. It runs in any modern browser on desktop or mobile with no install, and it also ships as an Android app that wraps the same game. Whichever you use, the daily board, the rules, and the fairness stay the same.
